Oil Pump: Installation
- Insert drive shaft into engine block with pointed end facing distributor.NOTE: Holding ring is located 5.02" (127.5 mm) from pump end of drive shaft.
- Using a new gasket, push oil pump onto drive shaft. Tighten oil pump bolts and then pickup line bolt to specifications.
NOTE:
In 1973 a gasket is no longer used between oil pump and engine block.
