Removing Front Display And Operator Control Unit

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of optical waveguides 

• Risk of damage to optical waveguide 
  1. → Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work. 
• Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation. 
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts. 

Information 

Protect centre console against scratching by using a suitable cover.

1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Cover the switch console and PDK selector lever with clean, soft cloths.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  .

4. Carefully pull front display and operator control unit out of the instrument panel and set it down on the padded switch console.

5. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  and -2-  .

6. Remove front display and operator control unit.
