Calibrating Reversing Camera Control Unit (Vehicles With Reversing Camera Control Unit Option]

NOTIFICATION 

Voltage drop 

• Irreparable damage to control unit 
• Damage to control unit 
• Fault entries in the control unit 
• Control unit programming/coding is aborted 
• Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding 
  1. Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
  2. Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
  3. Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

1. Connect tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
2. Select the vehicle type if necessary.
3. In the Overview,  select the control unit for chassis control.  Press F12 to continue. Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)? Press F11 to continue.
4. Select fault memory. 
5. Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
6. Go back to the Overview.
7. In the Overview,  select the reversing camera  control unit. Press F12 to continue.
8. Select Maintenance/repairs. 
9. Select Calibrating the reversing camera control unit.  Press F12 to continue.
10. Read the warnings and instructions displayed on the Tester. Perform calibration according to menu guidance. Press F12 to continue.
11. The Tester confirms that calibration is complete. 
12. Read out the fault memory  and erase it if necessary.
13. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect tester from vehicle.
14. Check the function and image quality of the reversing camera control unit.
