DTC P183A-77: Range Change Mechanism Failure - Commanded position not reachable: Action

- Using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform the Transfer Case Healthcheck Application. The application will subsequently test the system and report a DTC if a fault persists
- Start the engine and, using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read the DTCs. If the fault persists, install a new transfer case control module and configure as a new module. Refer to the Transfer Case Control Module Replacement instructions in the relevant Diagnosis and Testing Section For additional information, refer to: DIAGNOSTICS (307-01 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Diagnosis and Testing).
- Start the engine and, using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read the DTCs. If the fault persists, contact Dealer Technical Support to seek approval for replacement of the transfer case prior to exchanging the unit.NOTE: The transfer case is supplied with a TCCM already fitted and calibrated. Thus, there is no calibration work necessary.
