Replacing Occupant Detection Control Unit
NOTE:
Voltage drop
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

- Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type under Diagnostics .
- Start the control unit search in the overview by pressing [F12].
- Select the Airbag
control unit in the overview
and press [F12].

- Select 'Reset occupant detection learning values on passenger's side' in the Drive links/checks menu and press [F12] to continue.
- Start the function by pressing [F8]
- The message "Function has been executed"
appears. Press [F11] to go back.

- Start the function by pressing [F8]
- The message "Function has been executed" appears. Press [F11] to go back.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Perform function test: Switch the ignition off and then on again. The airbag warning light in the instrument cluster comes on and must go off again after a few seconds.
