Removing DME Control Unit: Notes

Installation position of DME control unit 

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work. 
• Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation. 
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts. 

1. Switch off ignition and remove remote control (hand-held transmitter) and control unit.
2. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  and remove water drip pan -2-  .

   Removing DME control unit bracket 

   NOTIFICATION 

   Voltage peaks 

   • Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit 

   Information 

   Left-hand drive vehicles are fitted with a protection cap over the connector. This must be folded upwards before releasing and disconnecting the connector.

3. Release electric plug connection -1-  (-a-  ) and disconnect it -B-  .

4. Release electric plug connection -2-  (-a-  ) and disconnect it -B-  .
5. Remove DME control unit with bracket by pulling it upwards.
