Performing First Start Function

Information 

• The process in the PIWIS Tester always works only once for each vehicle selection  .
• To repeat the process, the ignition and PIWIS Tester must be switched off  .

The bleeding process is performed using the First start function in PIWIS Tester II 9818  .

1. Attach connecting cable for PIWIS Tester to the fuse carrier in the left footwell. Switch on ignition and Tester.

   Information 

   • There is no need to create a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)  .
2. Start the diagnostic program, select the vehicle and then select DME  during control unit selection.
   1. 2.1. A Vehicle Analysis Log is not required  , so press [X=No]
3. Switch to the Maintenance/repairs  menu.
4. Select First start  in the menu and press [>> Next].
   1. 4.1. Follow the instructions on the screen and press [>> Next].
5. The next screen display explains how to proceed. The specifications must be adhered to because otherwise, the function cannot be guaranteed.
   1. 5.1. Activate the function routine by pressing [F8=Start]. Check how long it takes to run the function.
   2. 5.2. Then start the engine.
   3. 5.3. The function ends automatically after one minute.
6. Switch off the engine and switch off the PIWIS Tester.
7. Disconnect connecting cable and fit the cover on the fuse carrier.
