Programming ELV Control Unit
NOTE:

- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

Follow the instructions on the Tester.
Later versions of the software may display slightly different text or require a slightly different procedure. The instructions you receive from the tester itself take precedence over this description.
- PIWIS Tester II 9818 must be connected to the vehicle and ignition switched on.
- Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
- Select the required control unit PAS and Maintenance/repairs with the cursor keys and press the [12].
- Select Control unit replacement with the cursor keys and press [12].
- Select Read data (coding) with the cursor keys and press [12].
- The message Data was read out appears on the Porsche System Tester screen. Press [12] to continue.
- Switch off ignition, insert ignition key, disconnect the battery and replace the control unit.
- After you have replaced the ELV control unit, the ignition will not switch on again. >> Switch on hazard warning lights .
- Select the menu PAS and Maintenance/repairs on the System Tester and press [12] to continue.
- Select Teach ELV and press [12] to continue.
- Enter the Teach Enable Code TEC (from the PIWIS information system). Press [12] and then press [8] to confirm your entry.
- The message ELV taught appears. Press [11], switch on ignition (the ELV unlocks the steering column) and turn off hazard warning lights.
- Press [11] to return to vehicle type, select the Additional menu on the control units page and carry out vehicle handover .
- In the PAS menu, select Control unit replacement and Write data and press [12] to start.
- Then read out the fault memory of all control units and erase the fault memory for each faulty control unit.
- Start the engine and switch it off again, then remove the ignition key. The ELV control unit must lock the steering column.
