All-Wheel Final Drive

NOTE: All-wheel final drive is front differential.

Raise and support vehicle. See DISABLING/ENABLING ELECTRONIC LEVEL CONTROL . Ensure vehicle is horizontal to check oil level in all-wheel drive final drive. Remove engine guard. See Figure .
Using an open-box wrench (arrow), remove oil inspection plug (A). See Fig 1 .

Oil level is correct if oil reaches lower edge of inspection window. If oil does not reach, top off oil. Using ATF filling device for filling transmission, fill oil to lower edge of inspection plug (A). Install oil inspection plug (A) with NEW sealing ring. See Fig 1 .
Using special tool, with special inserts model AB 170, and accessory for torque wrench, open ring wrench insert a/f 13 with adapter 98-1. See Fig 2 . Tighten to 26 ft. lbs. (35 N.m).
