Calibrating The Steering Angle Sensor

The steering angle sensor is part of the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system. The steering angle sensor is integrated into the steering column switch assembly (combination switch).

The steering angle sensor must be calibrated using the Porsche System Tester (factory scan tool) under these conditions:

• Turn ignition on, with engine off.
• Running gear set according to Porsche specifications.
• Wheels in straight ahead position, and steering wheel horizontal.
• In straight-ahead position, steering wheel may be turned by +/-2 degrees from horizontal position (steering center position).
• After successful calibration, stored fault code is erased from the fault memory. PSM indicator light in the instrument cluster will go out.
