Drive link test: Procedure:

  1. Connect battery charger (see "COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE BATTERY CHARGING DEVICE ").
  2. Using the 9588 Porsche System Tester II, select the menu item 'Lock'.
    NOTE: If the airbag triggering unit was already locked, the text 'Control unit already locked' appears.
  3. Press [F8] 'Write' to start the locking procedure.
  4. Check whether an 'Airbag Off switch' is installed.
  5. Select the correct vehicle type 'without Airbag Off switch' or 'with Airbag Off switch' with the buttons ↑ and ↓ and confirm with the [>>] button.
  6. Wait until the text 'Locking control unit!' appears and disappears again.
  7. Switch off ignition.
  8. Switch on ignition.
  9. Press [<<] to return to the menu and erase the fault memory.
