Removing And Installing Closure Cap For Selector Force Mechanism: Removal

Remove transmission, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION, BOXSTER S .
Make sure that transmission is in neutral.
Unscrew fastening screw for gear housing A. See Fig 1 .

Remove snap ring B using pliers. See Fig 2 .

Drill a 3.5-mm hole in the center of the closure cap (coat the drill bit with viscous grease so that the drilling chips do not fall into the hole).
Screw in a 4.8 x 25 sheetmetal screw with a large washer.
Lever out the closure cap with two screwdrivers.
