Modifying coding

Under this menu item, the coding of the following functions can be extracted and changed:

MODIFYING CODING - AS OF MY 2001

Coding Setting Function
Coding for Japan Recirculation function active/ not active In the coding for Japan, air recirculation is also switched on permanently when external temperatures < 3° C (and no automatic reset 20 minutes after ignition switches off).
Pollen filter present/not present  
A/C symbol active/ not active The A/C symbol (ice flower) may be greyed out in the display.
PCM installed/ not installed Vehicles without PCM or with PCM2 must be coded to not installed !

Procedure:

  1. Using the Porsche System Tester II 9588 , select the menu item Modify coding. (The above table appears.)
  2. The display can be saved using the "F4" key.
  3. Using the "up" and "down" keys, select the coding to be changed and continue with the ">>" key.
  4. Using the "up" and "down" keys, select the correct coding and confirm with the Coding key ("F8").
  5. The display at the top right changes to the new coding.
  6. To review the coding, go back using the "<<" key.
  7. Select another coding (see Step 3) or end the procedure with the "<<" key.
