Test Requirements

The following requirements must be met before testing ABS5 & ABS5/ABD circuits:

• Ensure vehicle is equipped with approved tires and wheels, and that tires are inflated to correct pressure.
• Ensure base brake system, brakelights and brakelight switch are operating properly.
• Ensure master cylinder is full.
• Visually inspect for and repair any hydraulic leaks.
• Ensure wheel bearings are okay.
• Ensure wheel speed sensors are installed properly. See Figure . Front sensors are stamped with a "1" and rear sensors are stamped with a "2". Front and rear sensors are not interchangeable.
• Ensure all connectors have good contact and are not damaged.
• Inspect wiring harness for correct routing and damage.
• Ensure battery and charging system are operating properly.
