Riding Height Adjustment

Before adjusting alignment, check riding height. Riding height must be checked with vehicle on level floor and tires properly inflated. Bounce vehicle several times, and allow suspension to settle.

Visually inspect vehicle for abnormal height from front to rear or side to side. Check passenger and luggage compartments for extra-heavy items, and remove if present. If riding height is not within specification, check, repair or replace suspension components.

For front riding height, measure distance "A" from head of crossmember rear body bolt to wheel road contact point. See Figure. Measurement should be 6-7" (165-175 mm). For rear riding height, measure distance "B" from body end surface of lower control arm mount on vehicle to wheel road contact point. Measurement should be 10.75-11.00" (270-280 mm).

If body end surface of lower control arm mount on vehicle does not exist, measure distance "C" from lower control arm cast boss surface to wheel road contact point. See Figure. Measurement should be10.25-10.63" (258-268 mm).

Riding height is adjusted by turning adjusting nut located on bottom of each strut assembly. Turn nut clockwise to raise vehicle and counterclockwise to lower vehicle. Riding height between left and right sides of vehicle should vary less than 0.4" (10 mm).
