924 & 911 SC

  1. Bring engine up to normal operating temperature. Connect exhaust gas analyzer to connection in front of catalytic converter and in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Run engine at idle speed.
  2. Read CO% level on analyzer. Adjust CO% level if higher than specified. See CATALYTIC CONVERTER CO% LEVEL VALUES  table in this article and PORSCHE TUNE-UP PROCEDURES article.
  3. Now, connect the exhaust gas test line to tailpipe and read CO% level on analyzer. The CO% level at tail pipe should be significantly lower than CO% measured in front of converter. If no difference exists, converter is ineffective and must be replaced.
