Installation Procedure

Fig 1: Identifying Power Steering Motor Control Module Bolt & Nuts

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the electronic power steering motor control module with the bolt (3) and the 2 nuts (1, 2) and tighten to 8.0 N.m (71 lb in).

Connect the connector (1) to the module.
Turn the lock lever (2).
Securely push in the lock of the lock lever.
Install the wire harness clamp (3) to the module.
Install the upper instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
Initialize the steering angle sensor and calibrate torque sensor zero point. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Initialization and Steering Shaft Torque Sensor Zero Point Calibration (Manual) or Steering Angle Sensor Initialization and Steering Shaft Torque Sensor Zero Point Calibration (Scan Tool) .
