Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
    3. Fig 1: Identifying Air Flow Meter Connector & Wire Harness Clamps

  3. Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.
  4. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (1).
  5. Separate the 2 wire harness clamps (2, 3).

  6. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (2) and the 2 vacuum hoses (1, 3).

  7. Disconnect the ventilation hose (1).

  8. Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp (1), and unlock the 3 air cleaner assembly clamps (2, 3, 4) and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.

  9. Remove the throttle body assembly.
  10. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses (1, 2).

  11. Disconnect the throttle body assembly connector (1).

  12. Disconnect the throttle body hose (1).

  13. Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and the throttle body assembly.

  14. Remove the gasket (1) from the intake manifold.
