Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) on the crankshaft position sensor.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the crankshaft position sensor (4) with the bolt and tighten to 9.0 N.m (80 lb in).
    3. NOTE: Do not twist the O-ring.
  3. Install the wire harness (3) and crankshaft position sensor connector clamp.
  4. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector (2).
  5. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement (2.4L)
  6. Install the right engine under cover.
  7. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
  8. Inspect for oil leak.
