Removal Procedure

  1. Discharge fuel system pressure.
  2. Drain coolant.
  3. Remove front wiper arm head cap.
  4. Remove left front wiper arm and blade assembly.
  5. Remove right front wiper arm and blade assembly.
  6. Remove hood to cowl top seal.
  7. Remove right cowl top ventilator louver.
  8. Remove left cowl top ventilator louver.
  9. Remove windshield wiper motor and link assembly.
  10. Remove outer cowl top panel.
  11. Remove No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.
  12. Remove air cleaner cap sub-assembly with No. 1 air cleaner hose.
  13. Remove throttle body assembly.
  14. Remove fuel tube sub-assembly.
  15. Remove fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with fuel tube sub-assembly.

  17. Remove intake manifold.
  18. Disconnect the ventilation hose.

  20. Disconnect the union to check valve hose.
  21. Separate the wire harness clamp from the intake manifold.

  23. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.

  25. Remove the intake manifold gasket.
  26. Remove No. 1 intake manifold insulator.

  28. Disconnect the sensor connector.
  29. Remove the nut and knock sensor.
