Installation Procedure

  1. Install ECM.
  2. Install the 2 ECM brackets onto the ECM with the 4 screws.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the ECM with the 3 bolts.

    Tighten:  8.0 N.m (71 lb in)

  4. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.
  5. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.

  6. Install the wire harness clamp.
  7. Install air cleaner case.
  8. Install air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
  9. Install No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.
    10. NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
  10. Connect cable to battery negative terminal.
  11. Perform initialization.
    IMPORTANT: Initialization cannot be completed by only removing the cable from the battery.
  12. Perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the ECM.
  13. Perform REGISTRATION (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM.
