Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .
  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  4. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.

  6. Disconnect the throttle body connector and the 2 water by-pass hoses.

  8. Separate the wire harness clamp and remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

  10. Separate the 2 hoses.

  12. Separate the ventilation hose.

  14. Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.

  16. Separate the 2 wire harness push pins.

  18. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with throttle body.

  20. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  22. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
  23. Remove the bolt and remove the knock sensor.
