Air Compressor Leak Test

Special Tools
- J 22124-B Pressure Gage (0-300 psi)
- J 22124-91 Pressure Gage Adapter
- Attach the J 22124-91 to the air dryer.
- Attach the J 22124-B to the J 22124-91 with the toggle valve on the opposite side of the air compressor. Close the toggle valve.
- Apply air pressure at the Schrader valve. Pressurize until the J 22124-B reads 690 kPa (100 psi).
- Check the following areas using soap bubbles:
- Solenoid valve
- Air dryer to compressor head O-ring
- Air dryer cover
- Air compressor head gasket
- Air compressor head cover-If necessary, tighten the cover bolts to 5.6 N.m (50 lb in).
If a leak is found, replace the air compressor. Refer to Air Compressor Replacement .
