Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Mass Air Flow (MAF)/Air Intake Temperature (IAT) Sensor & Wiring Harness Connector

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2) to the intake air temperature (IAT)/mass air flow (MAF) sensor (1).

  5. Loosen the IAT/MAF to upper air cleaner body retaining clamp (1).
  6. Loosen the IAT/MAF to air intake duct retaining clamp (2).

  8. Remove five retaining clips (1) securing the upper air cleaner body.
  9. Remove upper air cleaner body and air cleaner filter assembly.
  10. Remove the air cleaner element. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .

  12. Remove the lower air cleaner body to front inner wheelhouse retaining nuts (1).
  13. Disengage the lower air cleaner body to front inner wheelhouse retainer (2).
  14. Remove the lower air cleaner body from the vehicle.
