Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the BCM.
  2. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the BCM F9 fuse B+ circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the X3 harness connector at the BCM.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the turn signal/multifunction switch.
  5. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If less than the specified value, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  6. Ignition OFF, connect the turn signal/multifunction switch.
  7. Disconnect the harness connector at the automatic transmission shift lock lever.
  8. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If less than the specified value, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  9. If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
