Installation Procedure

  1. Insert the ignition key (1) into the ignition lock cylinder (2) and turn to the ON position.
    2. NOTE: The ignition lock cylinder latch must fully engage and lock into the ignition lock cylinder housing (3).
  2. Install the ignition lock cylinder (2) and ignition key (1) assembly into the ignition lock cylinder housing (3).
  3. Turn the key to the OFF lock position.
  4. Remove the ignition key (1) from the ignition lock cylinder (2).
  5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil Replacement .
  6. Install the theft deterrent exciter module. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement .
  7. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
  8. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  9. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
  10. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
