Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure the front wheels are in the straight ahead position.
  2. IMPORTANT: Make sure the turn signal switch is in the neutral position or turn signal switch pin may be damaged.
  3. Place turn signal switch in neutral position.

  5. Install the steering wheel module coil (1) to the steering position sensor, engage all 6 retaining claws (2) and 2 pins.

    IMPORTANT: When installing a new steering wheel module coil, remove the lock pin prior to installing the steering wheel.
  7. Install the steering wheel module coil and steering position sensor(1), engage all 3 retaining claws (2).
  8. Center the steering wheel module coil, if necessary. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Centering .
  9. Connect the steering wheel module coil electrical connector (1).
  10. Install the steering column lower trim cover from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  11. Install the steering column upper trim cover from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  12. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
