Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR WARNING .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the upper instrument panel (I/P) pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: Identifying I/P Module Fasteners

  4. Remove the I/P module fasteners (1).

  6. Disengage the 5 hooks and remove the inflatable restraint I/P module as shown.
  7. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
