Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Torrent and 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the infrared transmitter module.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 12 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the accessory voltage circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the accessory voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. DVD playing, test for AC voltage between the following signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
    • Left DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 1
    • DVD audio common (-) - terminal 2
    • Right DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 3
    • If AC voltage is not present, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
  5. If all circuits test normal, replace the infrared transmitter module.
