Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Torrent and 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the video display.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohms between the video display ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the video signal circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, test for B+ between the voltage supply circuit terminal 7 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the voltage supply circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Radio ON, test for B+ between the enable circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the enable circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Radio ON, DVD playing in radio, test for 1-8 volts between the video bright control circuit terminal 9 and ground.
- If less then specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater then specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Test for 0.1-3.0 volts between the video mode signal circuit terminal 10 and ground.
- If less then specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater then specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Test for 1-3 volts between the video signal circuit terminal 1 and ground. The voltage will fluctuate in this range while the DVD is playing.
- If less then specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater then specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the video display.
