Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  2. Test for less than 1 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If greater than 1 ohm, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
  3. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following circuits listed below and ground.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
    • If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
  4. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits listed below and ground.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
    • If not the specified value, the appropriate circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit test normal, replace the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  5. Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
  6. Test for less than 1 ohm between the following terminals listed below.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 and 23
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3 and 37
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2 and 8
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5 and 38
    • If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  7. If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
