Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, verify that no immobilizer or automatic transmission DTCs are set that would cause the ECM to disable engine starting.
- If any DTCs are set that would inhibit engine starting, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Attempt to start the engine. Observe the following scan tool parameters in the ECM Electrical/Theft data list. Verify that the scan tool displays the status is OK.
- Starter Relay Ckt Short Gnd Test Status
- Starter Relay Ckt Open Test Status
- Starter Relay Ckt Short Volts Test Status
- If the scan tool displays any of the test status as Fault, then refer to Circuit/System Testing .
