Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the steering wheel position sensor.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 24 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 25
- Low reference circuit terminal 24
- Signal A circuit terminal 39
- Signal B circuit terminal 10
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits terminals listed below and ground.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 25
- Signal A circuit terminal 39
- Signal B circuit terminal 10
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the following circuit terminals listed below.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 25 and 1
- Signal A circuit terminal 39 and 5
- Signal B circuit terminal 10 and 6
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the steering wheel position sensor.
