Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following circuits listed below and ground.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
- yaw signal circuit terminal 3
- lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
- yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits listed below and ground.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
- yaw signal circuit terminal 3
- lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
- yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the following terminals listed below.
- 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 and 23
- yaw signal circuit terminal 3 and 37
- lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2 and 8
- yaw frequency circuit terminal 5 and 38
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
