Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  2. Test for less than 1 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  3. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following circuits listed below and ground.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
    • If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  4. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits listed below and ground.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5
    • If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  5. Disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
  6. Test for less than 1 ohm between the following terminals listed below.
    • 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 and 23
    • yaw signal circuit terminal 3 and 37
    • lateral accelerometer signal circuit terminal 2 and 8
    • yaw frequency circuit terminal 5 and 38
    • If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the combination yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  7. If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
