Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the knob.
  3. Remove the center instrument trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the instrument compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  5. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .

  6. Remove the clip and washer, then disconnect the cable end from the shift lever assembly.

  7. Turn the cable lock, then disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever assembly.

  8. Remove the clip, then disconnect the cable end from the shift lever assembly.

  9. Turn the lock, then disconnect the select cable from the shift lever assembly.
  10. Remove the 4 nuts, then the shift lever assembly.
