Case Assembly Inspection
- Inspect the case interior for cracks or porosity.
- Inspect the case to valve body surfaces for damage.
- Inspect the vent assembly for damage.
- Inspect all fluid passages with compressed air.
- Inspect the transaxle case bores for the following conditions:
- Damage
- Porosity
- Burrs
- Sharp edges. Use a fine emery cloth to remove any sharp edges.
- Inspect all bolt holes for thread damage. For thread repair procedure, refer to General Specifications .
- Inspect the case interior for damage to the following components:
- Ring grooves
- Casting
- Clutch plate lugs
- Inspect the case exterior for the following conditions:
- Scarred or damaged gasket mating surfaces
- Cracks
- Porosity. For case porosity repair, refer to General Specifications .
