Steering Position/Torque Sensor Calibration
- Install a scan tool.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine ON.
- Select Special Functions on the scan tool.
- Select Steering Position/Torque Sensor Calibration and press the Enter key.
- Center the steering wheel.
- Turn OFF the ignition and then ON again, with the engine ON.
- Turn the steering wheel 180 degrees the left and then 180 degrees to the right.
- Center the steering wheel.
- Wait until the scan tool displays "Calibration Complete". If the scan tool displays "Procedure Failed", repeat the calibration procedure.
- Press the Exit key.
- Clear any PSCM DTCs with the scan tool.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
IMPORTANT:
If the scan tool displays "Procedure is not required", the calibration procedure has already been completed.
IMPORTANT:
After centering the steering wheel, remove hands and other objects from the steering wheel and ensure the suspension is relaxed and that no bias or uneven force is being applied to the steering system.
IMPORTANT:
Do not disconnect the battery for at least 25 seconds after turning the ignition OFF or module memory loss may occur.
