Shift Control Housing Assemble

  1. Lubricate the shift lever plungers and the lever spring seat surface of the shift control housing with transmission fluid.
  2. Install the shift control lever extension shaft.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the shift control lever extension shaft socket retaining bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retainer bolts to 20 N.m (14 lb ft).

  4. Install the shift control housing detent.
  5. Install the shift control housing detent plug spring.
  6. Install the shift control housing detent plug.

    Tighten:  Tighten the housing bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the shift control lever spring.
  8. Install the boot into the control lever housing.
  9. Install the shift control lever into the boot.
