Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the garnish moldings from the left and the right windshield pillars. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
    2. NOTE: Use the following method to disengage the Head Up Display (HOOD) retainers. Do NOT pry the retainers with a flat-bladed tool or other similar device.
    1. Disengage the I/P upper trim panel retainers on the sides of the HOOD.
    2. Disengage the retainer rearward of the HOOD.

    Failure to follow this method could break the tab on the HOOD.

  2. Use your fingers to lift under the edge of the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel adjacent to the trim clips. If equipped, disengage the trim panel retainers on the sides of the Head Up Display (HOOD) first.

  3. If equipped, disengage the retainer rearward of the HOOD.
  4. Disengage the remaining trim panel retainers. Use clean shop towels to protect the I/P trim pad from the trim panel retainers. Lift the trim panel for access.

  5. Rotate the Theft LED. Remove the theft LED from the trim panel.

  6. Disconnect the theft LED from the electrical connector. Remove the theft LED.
