Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  2. Remove the exhaust flange crossover pipe and heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (L26/L32) or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (LS4) in Engine Exhaust.

  4. Depress the reverse servo cover (40).
  5. Remove the snap ring (39).

  7. Pull the O-ring seal (41) out through the slot in the case.
  8. Use side cutting pliers in order to cut the servo cover O-ring seal (41).
  9. Depress the reverse servo cover (40), grasp one end of the cut seal (41) and pull the seal (41) out of the servo cover (40).
  10. Remove the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (RPOs L26/L32) or Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (RPO LS4) in Engine Exhaust.

  12. Remove the reverse servo cover (40).
  13. Remove the servo assembly (42-48).
  14. Remove the servo spring (49).
