Removal Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Air Intake Duct

  1. Drain coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LA1) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (L61) in Engine Cooling.
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the breather tube from the air intake tube.
  4. Remove the air intake tube.

  6. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.

  8. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

  10. Disconnect the accelerator controls cable from the throttle lever and accelerator bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Replacement .

  12. If applicable disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and accelerator bracket.

  14. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Bracket Replacement .

  16. Disconnect the throttle body coolant bypass hoses.
  17. Disconnect the heater pipe nut at the throttle body.
  18. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold.
  19. Remove the throttle body assembly.
