Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Fig 1: Air Cleaner Assembly

  3. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the breather tube from the air intake duct.
  6. Loosen the two air intake duct clamps and remove the air intake duct.
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly retainer screws.
  8. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the vehicle.
  9. Separate the mass air flow (MAF) sensor from the air filter element cover.
  10. Remove the air cleaner element retaining screws and remove the cover.

  12. Remove the air cleaner element. Inspect the air cleaner element and replace if necessary.
