Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Drain the engine coolant below the level of the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) in Engine Cooling.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Disconnect the harness connector from the ECT sensor.

    NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
  8. Remove the ECT sensor.
