Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the catalytic converter to front muffler flange bolts (1).
  4. Support the left and right side catalytic converter assembly with a jackstand.
  5. Remove the front muffler to rear muffler flange bolts (2).
  6. Separate the front muffler from the catalytic converter and rear muffler assemblies.
  7. Remove the front muffler assembly from the support hangers.
  8. Remove the front muffler assembly from the vehicle.
