Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the battery insulator to the battery.

    IMPORTANT: Do NOT tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
  3. Install the battery (3) to the battery tray.
  4. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  8. Connect the positive battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the terminal bolt to 15N.m (11 lb ft).

  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .

  11. Install the RH fender diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal in Body Front End.
