Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new gasket.
  2. Install the throttle body assembly.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the throttle body nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the throttle body support bracket.
  5. Install the throttle body support bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  6. Install the vacuum hoses to the throttle body.

  7. Install the accelerator controls cable bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Bracket Replacement .
  8. Install the electrical wiring harness (2) to the accelerator controls bracket (3).

  9. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

  10. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.

  11. Connect the IAC valve electrical connector.

  12. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement .
  13. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  14. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
