Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the EGR valve inlet adapter pipe (1).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the EGR valve inlet adapter pipe bolts and studs (2,3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt and stud to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Raise the vehicle.
  6. Install the EGR valve inlet adapter pipe bolt (2) to the exhaust manifold.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb in).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the EGR valve outlet pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Outlet Pipe Replacement .
  10. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Replacement .
