Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil and replace the O-ring if damaged.
  2. Install the CMP sensor.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the CMP sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.4L) or Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.8L) in Power Steering System.
