Removal Procedure

- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) or Drive Belt Replacement (L32) in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26 and L32) .
- Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement .
- Disconnect the harness connector (4) from the power steering pump (1).
- Remove the power steering mounting bolts from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump from the engine.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.8L V-6) .
- Remove the power steering pump reservoir from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .
